PRIVATE TO HIGH SOCIETY, FAMILY, AND CLOSE FRIENDS
It looks as though I need to find a new Personal Assistant. It pains me to have to do so, but there are certain things that I simply cannot overlook, and Julia has tried my patience on more than one occasion. Despite my best efforts at teaching the girl how to properly present herself, on the importance of good grooming and hygiene, she has failed, and therefore must be replaced.
So, that is it, I have reached my limit. It is a pity - for all her shortcomings, she is a good assistant. Why is it so difficult to find a well-groomed lady who can master a typewriter and has impeccable penmanship and a dental hygienist?

1. She bites her nails. At least she has the good sense not to do this in my presence. I suggested charms to her that would stop her from doing so and suggested a good beautician, but she still comes to work with chipped nail varnish and short nails in various shapes. It is unbecoming.
2. I did try to warn her that if good fashion sense did not come naturally to her, to stick to a few staple items. Today, she wore white Mary-Janes with black stockings with a houndstooth jacket and some cheap, fuchsia (I kid you not, fuchsia) dress with a spiral pattern. I had to send her home, I was getting migraine from her clashing patterns.
3. Bad breath. I cannot abide it. I tried to instruct her to keep her responses to a minimum, yet she still managed to breathe heavily behind each uttered word.
